Becoming a Buddy

The UK Living Kidney Donation Buddy Support Service enables living kidney donors along with their friends and family to volunteer to support others who are currently on their donation journey.

Our service

We know that support is essential for donors and those around them during the kidney donation process, both before and after the donation.

This service offers a secure and safe place where they can chat with someone who has first hand experience and understands their journey.

How it works

The service will be provided through an online platform where buddies can set up a profile and manage appointments themselves.

Potential donors and their loved ones can then select a buddy for them based on age, location, ethnicity, gender and religious beliefs, depending on their own circumstances.

Once the appointment is confirmed, the session will take place using Zoom.
